Comments: Occasionally something will show up on Ebay that is extraordinary, and I’ll happily put out a special Ebay Alert. This collar is a wonderful example of Italian polychrome bobbinlace from the Michelangelo Jesurum factory in the late 19th century – he won a gold medal for this kind of work at the Paris Exposition of 1878.  The last time a major piece of this work came up on Ebay it went to the Retournac museum at a price of around $2500.  You can see it at:
