http://tinyurl.com/5ubuqgz HM 19thC BEAUTIFUL LONG & WIDE CHANTILLY LACE FLOUNCE
Starting price: $9.99 with reserve
Auction ends: Feb 06, 2011 10:58:08 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller snakey03rr, Bourbon, Missouri, United States
Comments: At 25′ by 14″, this piece is long even by Chantilly standards. It always amazes me how many of these long, wide pieces survive in good shape. This one has a lively design and good workmanship. Can’t tell if Belgian or French, which is difficult with any Chantilly piece.

Sold for $499.00, 10 bidders.

Starting price: $55.00
Auction ends: Feb 06, 2011 12:41:35 PST
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London and New York
Comments: Good Point de Paris border to an oval mat. Design of  hunters and deer.  Few tiny holes in the cloth center, lace looks good.  37″ long; it’s a pretty big piece. A good example of a lace that is often highly pictorial.

Sold for $89.00, 3 bidders.

Starting price: $69.99
Auction ends: Feb 06, 2011 15:01:43 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller snakey03rr, Bourbon, Missouri, United States
Comments: A 4′ x 2″ mid 18th c Mechlin with an unusual snowflake variant ground. The clothwork is not particularly exciting, but that’s not unusual with pieces like this. A few condition issues with rust. Pieces with this ground don’t come up very often.

Sold for $69.00, 1 bid.

http://tinyurl.com/6b4beo2 ANTIQUE LACE-163″ OF FINE ALENCON LACE
Starting price: $45.00 with reserve
Auction ends: Feb 07, 2011 10:11:51 PST
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London and New York
Comments: Very good, long (163″ x 3.5″) Alençon length, later 18th century. Condition appears excellent, just a few small defects. It’s unusual to find pieces like this in this good shape. Looks like the brides tortillee, with regular reseau along the edge. A lace meant to be ruffled, with the stiffer plain edge.

Sold for $395.00, 2 bids.

http://tinyurl.com/68bbpkn Vintage Lace Mantilla Shawl multi colour
Starting price: 5.99 GBP
Auction ends: Feb 08, 2011 10:01:57 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller karen1nomad2, Loughborough, Leicestershire, United Kingdom
Comments: What a great piece! I think it’s embroidered net, note the different ‘grain’ directions to the patterns of the motifs.   There are far too few colored laces around, and this one has a wonderful impact.  The form seems to be a Spanish mantilla, but I can’t guess the origin. Seller is also showing a similar piece in silver thread on black net.

Sold for 205.00 GBP, 7 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/6fpjrcw Edwardian Antique Irish Crochet Tape Lace Jacket Coat
Starting price: $50.00 with reserve
Auction ends: Feb 08, 2011 18:30:42 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller 1860-1960, Moorpark, California, United States
Comments: Good Irish Crochet jacket with large, dense motifs, often with raised work. Fairly simple ground with a single picot per mesh.  Very good condition, few broken bars, but not many. I don’t see any tape lace in this piece, so am not sure what that’s about.

   Sold for $519.00, 6 bidders.
