Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States

Size: 24″ x 12-7/8″
Starting Price: $49.99 with reserve
Auction ends: Jul 16, 2012 10:34:51 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller 1artdecodiva, Tipp City, Ohio, United States
Comments: The fan leaf is Brussels application on machine net, and I can’t tell if the center area is cut out for the painting or not. But it is quite nicely done and comes with a Tiffany box. Slight discoloration to the lace, little damage to a stick, but overall very good condition.

   Sold for $525.55, 5 bidders.

Starting Price: $650.00
Auction ends: Jul 17, 2012 06:53:41 PDT
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States
Comments: Another fan retailed by Tiffany, with box.  Point de Gaze leaf, no raised work, plenty of good fillings. Nicely painted MOP sticks.  Overall this is a good quality lace and works quite well in the fan setting.  I don’t see any obvious condition issues from the photos.

   No bids.

Size: ~11″
Starting Price: $795.00
Auction ends: Jul 17, 2012 07:06:58 PDT
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States
Comments: Another Point de Gaze fan, densely patterned, no raised work, very good work overall. Not as many fillings as the last one, but it’s made up for by the intricate pattern.  Sicks are beautifully carved, and almost compete with the lace in complexity. Lace is somewhat stained, but I don’t see any obvious damage.

   Sold for $795.00, 1 bidder.

Starting Price: $595.00
Auction ends: Jul 17, 2012 07:23:48 PDT
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States
Comments: A Chantilly fan with rather plain MOP sticks that are a bit jarring to the overall look of the piece.  Interewsting initials in the lace which is rather finely worked. I don’t see any obvious condition problems.

   No bids.

http://tinyurl.com/7olk3bb ANTIQUE VICTORIAN HONITON LACE LENGTH 12 FT. LONG (4 YS) (365 CMS)
Size: 4 yards x 3.75″
Starting Price: 45.00 GBP
Auction ends: Jul 17, 2012 09:53:38 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller amberfarleigh, Willington, Co Durham, United Kingdom
Comments: A narrow border of Honiton, snails/slugs design. The work is a little loose, design rather plain, but the length is extraordinary.  Condition is also very good, seller cites only one small discoloration.

Sold for 45.00 GBP, 1 bidder.

Starting Price: $29.99 with reserve
Auction ends: Jul 17, 2012 10:40:32 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller tkinney-98, Portland, Maine, United States
Comments: A wide flounce of bobbinlace applique on machine net, but seems Belgian, especially given the needlelace fillings.  Good spacing of the design, but no additional work like esprits in the upper net.  Condition looks very good, seller cites only two pinholes.  Hard to tell too much given the light background in the photos.

   Sold for $504.00, 9 bidders.

Starting Price: 149.00 EUR
Auction ends: Jul 17, 2012 11:55:44 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller merveillesdeparis, PARIS, France
Comments: A Brugges bobbinlace fan with very nice amber colored sticks, note the monogram on the guard. The motifs are quite large giving this a bold look. An unusual combination, and condition is very good.

   No bids.

Starting Price: $149.99 Buy-it-Now
Auction ends: Jul 18, 2012 11:55:44 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller merveillesdeparis, PARIS, France
Comments: Good mixed tape laces are hard to find, but I like this one. Good needlelace fillings, and a solid, well-worked ground, which certainly could be Belgian.  Wish there were closer photos, the tape might be handmade. Can’t tell.  Condition looks very good.

   No bids.

Starting Price: $75.00
Auction ends: Jul 18, 2012 06:06:34 PDT
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States
Comments: A Brussels Duchesse border, medium width, although rather short. An interesting desing of small motifs with thin leaves, and note the use of fillings in the bobbinlace motifs as well as in the Point de Gaze cartouches.  Very good condition, wish there were more.

   No bids.

http://tinyurl.com/7wth9jg ANTIQUE LACE-CIRCA 17-18THC. VENETIAN LACE
Size: 52″ x 2.5″
Starting Price: $75.00
Auction ends: Jul 18, 2012 06:10:39 PDT
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States
Comments: Raised Venetian lace of this small scale is sometimes known as Rosepoint in contrast to the larger Gros Point. The flow of the design looks intact in some parts, but disjoint especialy toward the ends. Most of these laces were reworked from earlier peices, and this doesn’t seem to be an exception. Still, it is a good example and I see some well-done sculpted raised borders.

   Sold for $167.50, 2 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/76a82ck ANTIQUE LACE-CIRCA 18THC. ARGENTAN LACE CAPBACK
Size: ~10″ x 8″
Starting Price: $195.00
Auction ends: Jul 18, 2012 10:22:18 PDT
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States
Comments: A capback, later 18th to early 19th c, of a type know as Argentan, although it was also made in Alençon. Probably a bride tortilée ground. Condition is quite good for its age, just a few small holes along the lower edge, and some pulls in the ground throughout. Hard to tell if there are any repairs. A nice example.

   No bids.

http://tinyurl.com/6w9fote ANTIQUE LACE- 216″ OF BOBBIN LACE
Size: 216″, no width given
Starting Price: $45.00 with reserve
Auction ends: Jul 18, 2012 10:38:53 PDT
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States
Comments: This border has the look of the Italian Abruzzi region laces. Perhaps Pescocostanza? A nice meandering design with 5-hole ground. The slightly scalloped edge is unsually, normally these are straight. Seller cites some spotting and minor openings, but overall good condition.

   Sold for $195.00, 3 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/7jtbv6q ANTIQUE LACE- 216″ OF BOBBIN LACE

Starting Price: $45.00
Auction ends: Jul 18, 2012 06:24:08 PDT
Offered by: Maria Niforos, Ebay seller mithya, London-New York, United States
Comments: Again I think it’s an Italian piece, maybe a headpiece or a collar? Hard to tell. There does seem to be a left-right symmetry, although it’s a bit hard to spot.  The piece looks intact, and in good condition.  I won’t venture a guess as to date.

   Sold for $66.00, 2 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/7oxnpa8 SU0PERB LG HANDMADE Antique Vtg ENGLISH HONITON BOBBIN LACE COLLAR

Starting Price: $29.99
Auction ends: Jul 18, 2012 18:03:18 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller adtjmd, London-New York, United States
Comments:  A Honiton collar with large, well executed motifs. The design is quite naturalistic for a Honiton guipure.  Condition is very good, seller cites some age discoloration and a broken bride or two. Nothing major.

   Sold for $76.00, 8 bidders.

ANTIQUE LACE-CIRCA 18THC. ARGENTAN LACE CAPBACK
Hi Laurie, if the ground is a tortillé ground it cannot be a Argentan bonnet back since the Argentan ground is always with “point de boutonniere on the side of the hexagonal mesh.
Torillé ground can be found only in a Alençon lace…..
    Claude.

ANTIQUE LACE- 216″ OF BOBBIN LACE
this is a binche lace, probably made in Belgium or Flanders, difficult to say as it has been produce for few centuries without much difference
It is also kind of “patwork” since the shape look like a collar rather then a “fanchon”
I found many pieces like this one, created from an older lace wich is reused and sawing together to get the shape needed
    Claude.

BELGIAN LATE 19THC HANDMADE WHITE TAPE LACE COLLAR 98×18 CM ADORABLE
We call “vieux Flandre” this lace wich was pretty much in the fashion at the beginning of the 20thc
In the older pieces the tapes are handmade, later, they always were machine made; this one look machine made, (look at the gathered parts)
I will show you some handmade work when you will come in September
    Claude.
