Comments: A bonnet veil of Brussels bobbinlace application on machine net.  A border of single roses and leaves with a small scallop on three sides, sprigs regularly scattered in the ground. The 4th side appears plain as you would expect from a bonnet veil, however there’s not enough information to determine if it was just cut down from a square veil. I don’t think so, feels original. Seller cites some repairs and pinhole to the net, but it seems in overall good condition.

Comments: Another bonnet veil of Brussels application on machine net, but the motifs on this one are all needlelace. It’s a nice compliment to the first piece reviewed above. These don’t come up for sale that often. The motifs are a bit larger and more elaborate than the first piece.  The technique is quite open and airy, not raised work or fancy fillings. Seller cites a few small holes and repairs, minor. Overall good condition.

Comments: Interesting bobbinlace patterns – I like the bird. Not sure what kind of lace it is form maybe Lille, or Point de Paris?  No markings for a gimp, but you do see some blue marks probably where the original design was drawn. Bobbinlace patterns come up on Ebay all the time, but these are unusual.

Comments: This is the week for applique! Honiton appliqued on machine net, a wide flounce. Nicely worked motifs, good tally fillings, and a fairly dense design over the tulle, with small dots at the upper part and between motifs. Lots of tally fillings in different patterns over large areas. Wish it had been laid out flat for photos, hard to get a good look at the design and see how it repeats. You can see some obvious holes in the net, other areas look good. Seller says some motifs are coming loose, not unusual for a piece like this.

Comments: The Point de Gaze in this Brussels Duchesse fan is really nice. Note the pointed raised rose petals with little diamond windows – sign of a better manufacturer. And athe bobbinlace is above average in design.  It’s a big piece, and the MOP isn’t showing so much as to detract from the lace.  Condition appears very good from the photos. Some damage and repairs to the sticks, lace has expected age discoloration.

Comments: The form is a bit unusual, but the work is good.; Brussels Duchesse border for a round table linen of some kind. It is actually all bobbinlace, but some of the inserts have a point de gaze ground. Good raised work in the scrolls against a halfstitch ground, and I like the way the little flowers around the edge are done. Looks in very good condition, just a little fraying here and there. Seller notes mild age discoloration, other very minor defects.

Comments: An interesting Irish Crochet collar with very heavy border motifs, and a lighter Rose of Sharon inner design. Trefoil picots on the brides for the large motifs, but I don’t think they are Clones knots.
