Hurricane Sandy is about to make landfall along the New Jersey coastline in the United States. New York will be strongly affected, in fact most Northeastern coastal areas have been evacuated. Wind gusts over 100 miles per hour are expected tonight and tomorrow. This will be a long-lived storm, probably lasting through Wednesday, with unknown effects from flooding. If you are shipping items to or from the United States which might go through the New York customs office, it is probably better to wait a week until all the backlog clears up.
And for those in the affected areas, please stay safe! My own flight to Washington DC, which was supposed to arrive at 6PM today, was cancelled yesterday.
