The bobbinlace has some interesting large flowers, and the Point de Gaze is larger than usual. Comments: A rectangular veil of Brussels application on machine net. Has a New York provenance.  Bows and flowers along the borders, I also think the rings are meant to represent wedding rings. Extensive esprits in the middle ground. Note the grids of needlelace fillings used especially on the border. Looks in very good condition from the photos, especially the net.

Comments: An elaborate cutwork pair of curtains. The cloth has great relief with heavy embroidery and other embroidered decoration. The motifs are attached to the center machine tulle with tambour embroidery. Some interesting needlelace fillings in the cutwork. Overall a very impressive set. A few small holes in the machine net, nothing serious – overall good condition.

Comments: Except for fans, smaller shaped pieces of Chantilly are relatively rare – normally you find flounces, veils, scarves and shawls. When fallcaps do come up they tend to vary a lot in form. This one has exaggerated ovals for the cap and lappet ends, with a well organized design. One lappet has two holes, and there seems to be a broken mesh in the main cap ground upper left. Basically good condition overall. Hard to say if it is French or Belgian; both did this kind of shaped work.
