Size: 25.5 cm diameter
Starting Price: 50.00 EUR
Auction ends: Feb 01, 2013 11:01:40 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller pb19540_3, Nice, France
Comments: Two plates from a set showing local crafts presumably from the Aurillac region. I’ve never seen the lacemaker plate before. The seller says these are faience, although I’m not an expert so can’t tell myself. There is a tiny crack at the bottom of the lacemaker plate and some small chips on the reverse. But I don’t think that’s very important for a lace collection, although it probably would be for a ceramics collection.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA   Sold for 52.00 EUR, 2 bidders.

Size: 36″ neck edge, 7″ deep
Starting Price: 34.95 GBP
Auction ends: Feb 01, 2013 11:29:59 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller derbeatle, Cheltenham, United Kingdom
Comments: A Tambour net embroidery bertha. Shaped pieces like this aren’t too common in embroidered net, and this one is nicely done. Although the trimming of the net along the edges is a little rough. Looks in very good condition from the photos.

230918323918   Sold for 45.16 GBP, 2 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/alfb378 Beautiful Example of 19th century GROS POINT Needle Lace 18 x 3 1/2″
Size: 3.5″ x 18″
Starting Price: $24.00
Auction ends: Feb 01, 2013 11:29:59 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller vintageblessings, Meridian, Idaho, United States
Comments: A Belgian Venise narrow border with raised borders.  Note the chains of rings which are very similar to work seen in Point de Gaze. Also the buttonholing on the raised borders is not closely spaced together, another Pt de G technique. Seller cites some small breaks and light tanning on the edges – basically good condition. I wish there were more.

http://tinyurl.com/bf8s7x6 Early Vintage Antique English Lace 1700 Devon Bone Bobbin Honiton 18th Century
Size: 2″ x 30″
Starting Price: $165.00 Buy-it-Now or Make Offer
Auction ends: 1 day 11 hours from 1/31/2013 6:13 PM MST
Offered by: Ebay seller twist-in-time, Keller, Texas, United States
Comments: The card with this piece reads “Made in West Country, Dorset, Somerset & Devon Called ‘bone lace’. This seems to have been identified by consulting Marian Powys book. It does have the look of early Devon, although the design isn’t very sophisticated. Which probably makes it a rare survivor, since the better designed and worked pieces tend to last longer. So I don’t think this piece should be ignored. Condition is a bit short of good with holes in the mesh and some staining.  The ‘bone lace’ more likely refers to the use of bone bobbins.

Size: ~4″ x ~91″
Starting Price: $75.00
Auction ends: Feb 02, 2013 13:21:12 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller snakey03rr, Bourbon, Missouri, United States
Comments: The slightly rough thread is probably linen. This has the straight edge and small flowers often associated with Arras work. Appears to be in very good condition, I don’t see anything wrong from the photos.

Starting Price: $225.00
Auction ends: Feb 02, 2013 13:21:12 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller mithya, Irvington, New York, United States
Comments: A Venise handkerchief in very good condition, with provenance. Not sure where this is from, it looks a little too sold for Belgium, and definitely not Burano. Might be a French piece, but it doesn’t have the usual Point de Colbert characteristics.

150987822146   Sold for $225.00, 1 bidder.

http://tinyurl.com/b3f79r3 Long length antique hand made Milanese lace 19th century or earlier
Size: 26 cm x 300 cm
Starting Price: 62.00 GBP
Auction ends: Feb 03, 2013 10:15:45 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller linskapet, Kirkcudbright, Dumfries & Galloway DG6 4UU, United Kingdom
Comments: A border which has a lot of Milanese characteristics – interesting fillings, and the 5 point star mesh. Wish I knew if it was cotton or linen. Probably, as the seller says, a 19th c copy.  It is notable for the length, and condition appears good, aside from a few small holes.

190790545513   Sold for 82.00 GBP, 3 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/afobbgk Antique Victorian handmade Honiton lace tambour wedding veil 1880s
Size: 124 cm x 136 cm
Starting Price: 120.00 GBP
Auction ends: Feb 03, 2013 11:26:24 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller linskapet, Kirkcudbright, Dumfries & Galloway DG6 4UU, United Kingdom
Comments: A Honiton application on machine net veil. I’m comfortable with Honiton mainly because of the elaborate fillings in the motifs. But the design is advanced and has a lot of similarity with contemporary Brussels applications, so the jury is a little out on this one. It’s also a little hard to get the sens of the whole design since only small portions are photographed.  Seller cites a few small holes and a 12cm tear, so basically good condition. This is a nice piece.

190790598437   Sold for 178.00 GBP, 3 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/b9h7g78 ANTIQUE LACE- ORNATE IRISH CROCHET BERTHA COLLAR
Size: 38″ long, 7″ wide
Starting Price: $75.00
Auction ends: Feb 03, 2013 14:43:59 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller mithya, Irvington, New York, United States
Comments: An Irish Crochet bertha collar. Elaborate motifs with lots of raised work, thrown together in quite a scattered design. The work is tightly done, and it might have Clones knots on the picots, not enough closeups to tell for certain. Seller cites overall discoloration, but the lace itself looks in very good condition.

150988037326   Sold for $75.00, 1 bidder.

Offered by: Ebay seller ringsorkim, Irvington, Wickliffe, Ohio, United States
Comments: An embroidered machine net bonnet veil. Looks like running stitch. The design is quite interesting and seems to resemble large Lille or Arras pieces. Seller cites one small hole and some staining and spotting. Basically good condition.
