This festival is part of the celebration of the addition of Alençon lace to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.  Many textile arts will be included in the event, including lace, embroidery, quilting, sewing, and others. This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
Events will include:
Lace demonstrations – Alençon, Argentan, Bourg-le-Roi, Caen-Bayeux-Courseulles, La Perriere, etc.
Exhibitions:
historic textiles, weaving, lace, etc.
Veronica Zimmermann, textile artist combining needle and bobbinlace with other materials  (see http://verozim.com/)
The history of the Bohin needle company, in business since 1833
Lectures  on lace, lace in fashion, Sainte-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus who was born in Alençon, etc.
Workshops on various subjects will be hosted by a number of cafes in town.
