Starting Price: 25.00 GBP
Auction ends: Oct 21, 2013 06:53:44 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller reddolly123, Nottingham, United Kingdom
Comments: A flounce of embroidered net, needlerun with shamrock designs. Which points to Limerick. Borders of this are fairly unusual. The design is a little simple, two main flower sprays form the repeat. There are a few esprits close to the lower border.
Condition:
Modifications: None, although I can’t see the condition of the ends.
Damage: Not a lot of closeups, but looks intact.
Soilage: Looks good from photos.

Comments: A Duchesse de Bruges fan with Mother of Pearl (probably abalone) sticks. Note the little sequins sewn onto the lace – probably a later addition. The lace has fairly conventional motifs, nicely made.
Condition:
Modifications: Additional sequins sewn on.
Damage: Nothing obvious from the photos. One repaired guard stick.
Soilage: Seller cites a little discoloration with a few yellowish spots.

Size: not given
Starting Price: $4.99
Auction ends: Oct 23, 2013 16:27:04 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller mi401k, Stanton, Michigan, United States
Comments: I think the Koppo Cushion is the best Teneriffe loom as far as a practical working device. Many others just look really cool but don’t work very well. You normally find two versions of this item, one with packing materials in Japanese, and one in English. It was invented by Koppo Saito, and dates from the mid 1950’s (the patent is dated June 19, 1956). They are leather stuffed with a packed wood filling, and a red cloth base. This one seems complete with the original box. They don’t come up for sale very often.
Condition:
Modifications: None
Damage: Looks good.
Soilage: Nothing obvious.

Starting Price: 24.95 GBP
Auction ends: Oct 23, 2013 10:15:01 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller derbeatle, Cheltenham, United Kingdom
Comments: A long, wide point ground lace, although that only applies to the bottom. The wide blank area at the top is Kat stitch. I think it’s Bucks, basically because of the extensive fillings along the bottom edge – you usually don’t see these wide areas filled like this in Lille. Seller gives a provenance, but best to write and ask for more details.
Condition:
Modifications: Cut on one end, can’t see the other end.
Damage: Nothing obvious from the photos.
Soilage: Pale ivory color. Maybe a little wrinkled along the bottom edge.

Offered by: Ebay seller snakey03rr, Bourbon, Missouri, United States
Comments: A rectangular shawl of Brussels bobbinlace application on machine net. Simple needlelace fillings. The motifs are rather large and a little loosely worked in a few places, but all fits well with the design. No esprits, and the design has an asymmetry that is quite pleasing. Nice looking piece.
Condition:
Modifications: None
Damage: Some minor breaks and pinholes in the tulle.
Soilage: Looks clean from the photos.

Offered by: Ebay seller derbeatle, Cheltenham, United Kingdom
Comments: A long border of bobbinlace applique on machine net. No needlelace fillings that I can see. The large filled areas, and very closely worked bobbinlace makes me think this piece might be English, but hard to really tell. Motifs are well done.
Condition:
Modifications: Cut on both ends. Looks like one bud in the upper ground might be missing (photo #5).
Damage: Number of small holes and pinholes mainly in the tulle.
Soilage: Some small dark colored stains.

Comments: Ex. coll. Pat Earnshaw. A silk (or perhaps heavy shiny linen) tape lace shawl with plaited ground. The motifs, particularly the edges have an Eastern European flavor. But I’m hard pressed to assign a specific locality. It has some interesting plaited fillings.
Condition:
Modifications: None.
Damage: Nothing obvious from the photos.

Offered by: Ebay seller abfabs05, East Anglia, United Kingdom
Comments: A triangular Chantilly shawl. I stared at the photos for a long time on this once since the pattern is so dense. I’m reasonably certain it is Chantilly (90%), and I think I see traces of vertical racroc patterns in the overall photo. And from what I can see of the honeycomb fillings, they do look handmade. The design is elaborate and romantic, makes a big splash. Almost too dense for handmade Chantilly.
Condition:
Modifications: None.
Damage: Three small holes, and one slit looking like a racroc split.
Soilage: Hard to tell since it is black. Seller has no notes on the subject.

Comments: A long border of Point de Gaze, raised petal roses, some double layered. Good flowing design with lots of swirls and volutes. The decorative ‘mode’ fillings are basically raised rings used in lines and circles. All in all, a higher end market piece.
Condition:
Modifications: Loose attachment threads in the engrelure.
Damage: Holes in the mesh, especially near the engrelure region.
Soilage: Cream color, minor yellow marks.

Starting Price: $99.95
Auction ends: Oct 24, 2013 13:41:10 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller eclectricvintage, Fernley, Nevada, United States
Comments: A Flemish Pottery lacemaker (see http://tinyurl.com/4baktku). Looks like one of the smaller Vande Voorde figures. Note there’s an actual piece of lace on the pillow. Vande Voorde made many sizes of this figure, and might claim to be the first Flemish pottery to produce it. His mother was a lacemaker.
Condition:
Modifications: None
Damage: One small chip in a corner (not sure which corner), slight crazing of glaze.
Soilage: Looks pretty clean, hard to tell with all the muted colors.

Comments: A black Blonde mantilla, the form is a little unusual with the very wide lappet ends. Note the combination of both linen and half stitch, along with some tally grids used as fillings. Might be a French Blonde-de-Caen product made for the Spanish market.
Condition:
Modifications: None
Damage: One large hole in the net center front, other small holes.

Comments: An impressive rectangular embroidered net shawl. The embroidery is needlerun and certainly could be Limerick. I looked through Pat’s books on the subject but it is not illustrated. An impressive piece, well worked.
Condition:
Modifications: None
Damage: 2 small repairs, a few small holes.

Comments: A round collar of Honiton guipure. Snails/slugs style, with fairly large motifs, especially in the center section. The design is symmetric, but still appears a bit scattered. Good tight work, with a little raised work used as leaf veining.
Condition:
Modifications: None
Damage: Soe broken brides, wear to the back neckline.
Soilage: Looks clean from the photos.
