This is part of the 62è Aplec de la Sardana in Banyoles which runs from July 4-6, 2014. There are many events on Saturday, and not a lot of information about any of them. The Trobada de Puntaires is part of a crafts market associated with the Aplec.  The date is a little unclear, some sites say July 5, some July 6th. I think the 6th date is correct, but it’s a bit of a guess. There is also an associated contest, the 7è Concurs de Puntes de Coixí i Patchwork, which offers a prize in both arts. The theme for bobbinlace (they use the term Puntes de coixí) is a shirt or blouse with details in bobbinlacelace (una camiseta o brusa amb un detall de punta de coixí). Entries must be submitted on the day of the event and judging will be by popular vote.
The lace and patchwork meeting attracts about 200 participants.  Note the picture of a lacemaker on the poster below.

The Sardana is the traditional national dance of Catalonia.  The word ‘Aplec’ means ‘gathering’.  See the video at http://tinyurl.com/kuynt74 for an example.
