This auction includes the sixth and last part of the Pat Earnshaw lace collection – I’ll have to revise my note on the for the April 8, 2014 auction – that was not the last one. I’m having trouble downloading the catalog – works better if you just type ‘lace’ or ‘Earnshaw’ int their search engine. The Earnshaw lots are 396-425, and there is more lace, lots 378-395, some photos missing as of this writing. Be sure to look at:
#378 A Burano collar.
#381 A figural fan leaf described as Mechlin – I can’t see the mesh well enough, it may be Lille.
#382 A Mechlin fan leaf with owls.
#383 Point d’Angleterre (19thc) fan leaf with peacocks.
#384 Rosaline fan leaf along with a possibly Point de Milan fan leaf
#386 Point d’Angleterre (19thc) border#387 Border, not sure, with all the grounds it looks like Le Puy, but the design is more Belgian.
#393 Pair of 18th c Flemish sleeve flounces.#402 Deep flounce of figural white Chantilly with some whole stitch clothwork, not with heavy silk thread that would indicate blonde. Might be a Belgian piece.
#411 Lot of nice Flemish pieced bobbinlaces, Point de France style.
#416 Long Valenciennes round hole lappets
#417 Lappets with connecting band, can’t get the closeups to come up, so not sure what it is.
#425 two lengths of early English needlelace.
