Comments: A dress front of Beds; center shaped insert with a gathered edge of a separate beds border.  This is a rather common arrangement for Beds collars. The ‘paisley’ motif is unusual, but not unknown. I’m also showing a parasol cover from my own collection with a similar motif. The motif from my piece is being included in a forthcoming Beds technique book by a well known author.

And there aren’t enough photos to get an idea of the full repeat design.

Comments: A klöppelstand with a drum-shaped top. I have one of these in my collection, also dated 1894 and with the same name ‘Satzung. This is a village in Marienberg in the Erzgebirge.  The paint on this one is in good condition. The wear on the footpieces is expected.  The pillow should be turned to properly fit in the stand – I don’t know if it is original, but the bobbins are appropriate to the area.  There is a covered box in back of the nameplate; nice paint job on the back of the box.  My example has some cut out scallops on the sides of the faceplate and box, can’t tell if they are there in this piece.
