Auction by: Thierry de Maigret, 5, rue de Montholon, 75009 Paris

Expert: Séverine Experton-Dard, sevdex@yahoo.fr, +33 (0) 6 80 65 1

Notes: The laces in this auction run from lots 1 to 97, with a few linens mixed in.  I especially like:
Lot 17 – A pair of Brussels lappets, and a Valenciennes border
Lot 32 – Mezzo punto (an early mixed tape lace) which might be 17th c.
Lot 37 – Chantilly shawl, hard to tell from the single photo if handmade.
Lot 39 – Long, reasonably wide Brussels application crinoline flounce.
Lot 44 – pair of mid 18th c Brussels lappets with droschel ground.
Lot 47 – wide ombre Chantilly or Bayeux flounce, 10 meters long
Lot 48 – Alençon fragment with Napoleonic bees, attributed to the famous bed hangings of around 1810 originally ordered for Josephine but adapted for Marie-Louise after the divorce. However I believe all the hangings are accounted for and were recently reassembled for an exhibition, so how this fits in is unclear. Fascinating piece.
Lot 51 – Might be an Amelia Ars tablecover
Lot 52 – Punto in Aria border
Lot 53 – Louis XV Alençon cap back
Lot 60 – mid 19th c Alençon flounce, 9 meters long by 9 cm wide.
Lot 61 – Crinoline flounce, 6 meters long, of Application on machine net.
Lot 66 – very fine Crinoline flounce of application on machine net, 120 cm x 480 cm.
Lot 79 – Point de Neige style flounce, French or Italian.
Lot 80 – Important dress panel of Point de France
Lot 86 – Valenciennes or Binche border, around 1740
Lot 88 – Two matching and one single lappet of round-hole Valenciennes
Lot 89 – Milanese with raised edges
Lot 90 – Important Sedan flounce
Lot 91 – Valenciennes lappets, mid 18th c.

Drouot is an organization of auction houses throughout France, including their main facility, the Hôtel Drouot in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Online bidding: All bidders must first register with Drouot (before Wed May 21st at noon for this sale). Go to https://drouotonline.webzone-secure.org/creationdecompte to create an account.
