A number of interesting workshops are offered, including Puncetto Valsesiano, Orvietto Crochet, Cantu bobbinlace, and Ameilia Ars needlelace. It also looks like there will be a lace exhibition, with ancient and modern works.
Web information on this conference is a little confusing with several conflicting sites, but at least I found the registration forms (see Flyers above). Registration ends on February 28, 2011.

The Klöppelspitzen Kongress has been a fixture for years, and more information is now available on the activities. Workshops will be held before the main Congress, and were announced in the last issue of Die Spitze in 2010. An agenda of events can also be found in the January 2011 issue of Die Spitze, which will arrive late March to early April.
An exhibition of Milanese lace, “Mailänder Spitze auf neuen Wegen” will be held in the Bad Pyrmont castle museum, and a new book on Milanese will be published at the same time.
Other exhibitions include the last of an ongoing series featuring color in lace, called “RED – in lace”. There is a competition associated with this event, and the entries will also be on display.

Comments: Interesting Chantilly length, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. It doesn’t have the traditional point ground. Rather it uses chains of honeycomb stitch to link the motifs.

Comments: Neuchatel is probably right on this piece, although I’m not sure I agree with the 18th century date (despite similar photos in Montandon’s La Dentelle de Neuchatel book). Can’t tell if the thread is linen which would help decide the issue. It has some condition issues, could benefit from some expert repair.

Comments: A good long length of a Flemish lace, gimp around the motifs and 5-hole ground – choose your own name for this type of lace. Looks to be in fine condition, although not all is displayed.

Comments: Very good mixed lace – nice design, with layered work in the Duchesse. Pointed petals in the needlelace roses are a sign of a better maker. Some condition issues in the needlelace ground, but overall quite nice.
