http://tinyurl.com/2658k8e Tinted Magic Lantern Slide China Girls Hand Making Lace
Starting price: $9.95
Auction ends: Jan 11, 2011 19:37:56 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller 3dmore, Joplin, Missouri, United States
Comments: Magic lantern slides are great, however you have to be able to view them. Not many people have projectors these days – so you have to do tricks with scanners and such. But this one is a beautiful photo of Chinese bobbin lacemakers – we know virtually nothing about Chinese lace, so this is a valuable resource.

Sold for $56.55, 2 bidders.

Starting price: 8.27 GBP
Auction ends: Jan 15, 2011 06:44:51 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller dianavee52, Cornwall, UK
Comments: I’m sure this is Russian Michailov colored lace – a beautiful, long piece. This seller has sold Russian pieces before.  Here’s hoping the miscellaneous loose threads at the top are just the remnants of an attachment to something else.

Sold for 17.00 GBP, 3 bidders.

Starting price: 69.00 GBP
Auction ends: Jan 15, 2011 10:10:38 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller fanlady24, Padova, PD, Italy
Comments: Very good Maltese fan, design of tallies and crosses is pretty standard. Sticks are excellent, and the tassel remains with the piece. Condition looks quite good overall.

Sold for 300.00 GBP, 5 bidders

Starting price: 45.00 EUR
Auction ends: Jan 17, 2011 11:31:42 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller sacharafafa, Uccle, Belgium
Comments: Appears to be a frame for embroidering net, with a partially completed example attached.  Maybe it will come apart for shipping.  Looks in very good condition, and seems to be complete. I won’t venture a guess where it comes from, although the seller is from Belgium.

Did not sell.

http://tinyurl.com/23rmuxb * 17/18thc FLEMISH Baroque Style BOBBIN LACE FLOUNCE *
Starting price: $9.99 with reserve
Auction ends: Jan 19, 2011 11:10:35 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester., Worcs., United Kingdom
Comments: Long, wide Flemish flounce – does not appear to have been cut at top or bottom. Seller does indicate that it is made up from 4 pieces, although joins are very good. Beautiful workmanship, and condition appears very good.

sold for $1,009.00, 10 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/29skhtm * 17thc? Early Flounce NEEDLE LACE – Possibly English?*
Starting price: $9.99 with reserve
Auction ends: Jan 19, 2011 11:15:08 PST
Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester., Worcs., United Kingdom
Comments: Quite a striking piece – English? I don’t know. I associate early English flat points with a slightly different stitch. The design isn’t quite right, and the bullion ‘picots’ don’t add up. The edges are also a little odd. I think Italian, maybe a later piece.
There is an area of replacement with a similar design.  Condition looks a little worn, but good.

Sold for $175.00, 6 bidders.
