The “Lace on the Train” event at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway has been moved forward from the weekend of National Lacemaking Day in September (which it has been for the last two years) to August 10th and 11th so that it coincides with the start of the Guild’s Summer School (which is just up the road!). This year we are making it a Lace and Craft event, with Lacemakers on the train and Craft demonstrations in the shed. The craft tables are by invitation, but anyone can come and make lace on the train! We found that the problem with holding the event in September was that once the kids had gone back to school, all the local lacemakers went on holiday!
Tickets: £7.5 adult, £6 senior, £3.75 child over 5, child under 5 free, £18.50 family (2+2).
Tickets are valid all day. Purchase tickets at the station on the day of the event.
There is a tea room serving hot and cold meals and snacks.
Contact: Jane Partridge. Please email Jane in advance so an estimate of the number of attendees can be obtained.
