The entries from this national juried competition will be exhibited in conjunction with the exhibition “The Art of the Lacemaker (revisited), An Exhibition of the Ruhland Collection of Lace”, July 11 to November 2, 2014, at the Guelph Civic Museum, Ontario, Canada.  A detailed announcement of the exhibition will follow this post ( The contest is in memory of the late Margaret Ruhland of Ottowa, who passed away unexpectedly in March, 2013. The exhibition will take place at The Atrium, One Stone Road, Guelph, Ontario N1G 4YU, from July 11 to November 2, 2014.

  • The competition is open to Canadian residents or to Canadians residing abroad.
  • Entrants will be initially required to submit fully-labled images, either by email or regular post. Photographs sent by regular mail will be returned to the sender.
  • Contestants may submit one or two works, recently completed and not previously exhibited in competition.
  • The description should include materials, technique, date, title, dimensions and whether the lace will be framed or other wise mounted for display.
