Bonhams has four specialist Textile auctions per year held in conjunction with the ‘Oak’ sales.  Condition reports can be requested separately for all lots.

In January the laces include lots 308 to 342 – there are a few items of equipment also incuded. Five of the lots are from the collection of the late Susan Cox, founder of the English Lace School at Tiverton. They are lots 315, 324, 325, 327, and 328.  Many others bear the provenance of noted lace author and teacher Ann Collier.
There aren’t many laces being offered, but many of high quality, including:
Lot 310: A pair of mid 18th c Mechlin lappets, two other lappets and  an early 18th c cap back.
Lot 311: A joined pair of early 18th c square end Brussels lappets, very dense. Includes other miscellaneous pieces.
Lot 312: Two early 18th c round end lappets, a mid 18th c Valenciennes lappet, 2 contemporary needlelace pieces.
Lot 313:  Hollie point pieces
Lot 316:  A deep Milanese flounce, no ground or brides.
Lot 319:  Several fans, one looks like a Valenciennes de Gand (perhaps) with ombre shading.
Lot 322:  Point de Gaze handkerchief with raised petal roses, reputed Royal provenance.
Lot 325:  A deep, long Honiton guipure flounce with matching edging
Lot 331:  Blonde flounce and overskirt
Lot 334:  Square Brussels application shawl.
Lot 337:  Elaborate Maltese guipure fan, with other fans.
Lot 338:  Elaborate Honiton bonnet veil, with other pieces.
Lot 340:  3 portfolios, Spitzen aus dem Museum der Königl. Kunst-Schule, Lescure Fonds de Bonnets, and Alan S. Cole – Irische Spitzen.  All fairly rare.

Future textile sales at Bonhams will be held on May 14 and October 1, 2014.
