This exhibition was first shown at the 2013 Venice Art Biennale. The artist was inspired by the landscape of the ‘barene’, a characteristic squared-off area in the Venetian lagoon. Rosen worked with master lacemaker Sandra Mavaracchio to interpret these designs in lace.
