The character of the festival is changing a bit this year, they are putting more emphasis on social and artistic events in the evenings. Please forgive my struggled translations.
Events:
June 20, 19:00 Opening, Gewerkenegg Castle courtyard – actually moved to the ‘Blue Room’ because of bad weather.
There will be 13 exhibitions this year (http://tinyurl.com/kc8vo5e), some of which include:
– Lace Exhibition at the Castle Gewerkenegg
– “Old Suitcase reveals Albin Mažgon and his lace”, exhibition of the Idrija Lace Sociey in the Gallery of the City Library. If I’m reading correctly, this exhibition, which runs from June 23 to Dec 31, highlights pattern for lace designed by Mažgon between the World Wars, and found in a suitcase.
– “Look what I can do” 2014, the annual exhibition of student’s lace at the Idrija Lace School.
– Bobbin Lace of Metka Prezelj
– Glasshouse – exhibition of students of the Department of Textile and FAshion Design, University of Ljubljana, this is the work of 7 students. Runs from June 20-Dec 31.
– Space – TheJoy in Us, solo exhibition by prof. Margaret Godler, Dr. Marica Starešinič, Vera Velikajne, Cafe, City Market 1. Runds from June 20-Dec 31.
– Idrija Lace 2020: Back to the Future, Exhibition of the Idrija LaceSociety at the Lace School
– Micro / Macro/ Mezzo Culture & Identity, spacial installation by the students of the Faculty of Design in collaboration with the Idrija Lace School, runs June 20-Dec 31.
