The 2015 agenda included a talk by Dr. Consiglia Azzopardi on “Exposure of Maltese Lace Surviving in Austrailia”, and a lecture on the lace jacket pattern for this year’s events.
Equipment was provided for sale by the Koperattiva Ghawdxija tal-Bizzilla u Artigjanat, the Gozo Lace Cooperative. The Lace Guild and OIDFA also were present.

This trobada is part of the 30ª Festa de la Cirera (Cherry Festival), which runs from May 29-31, 2015 (last weekend in May). The cherry trees around Barcelona come into flower in March and bear fruit in May and June.

More than 800 lacemakers from 17 provinces attended the 15th Encuentro in 2014.
There is an exhibition associated with the Encuentro, from May 15-30 in the Sala del Episcopio, called “De la Rueca a la Pluma”. It celebrates the 500th birthday of Santa Teresa de Jesús, born in Ávila on March 28, 1515. She died in 1582, and apparently was a lacemaker.
