http://tinyurl.com/cxz87x2 ANTIQUE LACE UNBELIEVABLE! 40 METERS OF NARROW HAND MADE MECHLIN LACE EDGING
Size: 2 cm x 40 m (Probably, going by a lable. Amazing how much the script word ‘metres’ looks like ‘inches’, but I do think it says ‘metres’)
Starting Price: $375.00 Buy-it-Now or Make Offer
Auction ends: Apr 28, 2013 14:06:30 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller greatlace, Palm Beach, Florida, United States
Comments:  Had to stare at this one a while.  It is indeed a very long, very narrow border of Mechlin. The width is much narrower than normal, yet the design is still a bit complex.  Nice regular work, which it would have to be given the length. Seller doesn’t know if it really is in one piece, and it has light age stains, overall good condition. I’ve never seen anything quite like it.

http://tinyurl.com/bnl4gx4 ANTIQUE LACE-C. 17THC. MILANESE LACE CHALICE COVER
Size: 18.5″ x 16.5″
Starting Price: $45.00 with reserve
Auction ends: Apr 28, 2013 17:41:59 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller mithya, Irvington, New York, United States
Comments:  This interesting panel of tape lace has tape design typical of Milanese, and the symmetry more like you see in the Abbruzi area. Not all of it is shown in the photo, but it appears the lower border is integral to the design. The sides look like something added later; the tape design appears interrupted like it was cut off. I’m guessing it was adapted from a larger flounce, wish I could see the upper border. Simple plaited fillings. The  elaborate picoted brides, almost like what is found in Gros and Flat Point needlelace.  Quite a striking, bold design. Condition looks very good, just a few small spots that I can see.

http://tinyurl.com/cpfbbs9 ANTIQUE LACE-CIRCA 17THC. GENOESE LACE
Size: 7″ x 23.5″
Starting Price: $45.00 with reserve
Auction ends: Apr 28, 2013 17:46:15 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller mithya, Irvington, New York, United States
Comments:  A very striking design – really wish there were more of it.  It has the look of pieces from the Sessa brothers books of the mid 16th c, but more advanced.  The woven leaves are a feature of Genoese lace, however the tape-like structure deviates from the more plaited design usually seen in Genoese bobbinlace.  Milanese of the early 17th c did occasional include a little leaf work. It bears some resemblance to plate 121 in Leavey’s “Lace, a History”, and she labels this Milanese from 1620-40.  Looks in very good condition considering the age.

Starting Price: $145.00 Buy-it-Now
Auction ends: Apr 28, 2013 17:50:14 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller gb-best, New Ringgold, Pennsylvania, United States
Comments:  An Irish crochet collar with densely worked motifs, raised work, and rather thin leaves  in many elements. Can’t tell how the picots are made. The design is pretty crowded, but it does have a nice kind of swirling flow. Seller cites light spotting, occasional missed stitch, basically good condition.

http://tinyurl.com/d32d5vc Antique Bedfordshire English Bobbin Lace Collar
Size: 21″ x 5.5″ to 7.5″
Starting Price: $24.99
Auction ends: Apr 28, 2013 20:58:47 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller taste-t-vintage, Eureka, California, United States
Comments: This is the second dress front like this that this seller has offered (see Ebay Alerts 2/28/2013). I know it’s not a resale because I bought the first one. It is a bit heavier than I expected, and with the heavy gimp work, I think it is a Cluny variation, perhaps Miracourt.  Seller cites a few spots, but basically in very good condition.  Nice design, kind of Art Nouveau.

http://tinyurl.com/cs2j7hq Antique French Fairy Tales Handmade Lace Panel
Size: 9.5″ x 56″
Starting Price: $64.00
Auction ends: Apr 29, 2013 07:49:02 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller the*vermonter, Vergennes, Vermont, United States
Comments: A pictorial bobbinlace panel, quite wide and narrow.  Not sure where this could have originated.  Figural bobbinlace is often associated with Northern Italy, however that is basically pieced work and this is continuous. It shows the fable of the fox and the stork which appeared in La Fontaine, however was a much earlier story.  It has a kind of ring net ground, unusual. I’m wondering if this isn’t a Belgian piece, early 20th c.  Seller says it has been soaked and dried, with a few tiny breaks. Basically good condition.

Starting Price: $25.00
Auction ends: Apr 29, 2013 11:20:28 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments: A narrow scalloped border of Alençon with réseau fin ground.  It has the more open toilé of the later 19th century, and note the firm horsehair through the picots on the edge. Rather subdued on fillings, but it’s a small piece and they are nicely done. The looks intact, but with a few repairs or pulls. One join in the center. Overall good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller chantillydreams, Mount Sinai, New York, United States
Comments: A large rectangular veil of Honiton applique on machine net.  Snails/slugs esthetic, well done motifs and good tally fillings.  The design around the borders has large flowers, rest of the design has a few scattered motifs in the corners and small buds used as esprits. The net is that lovely soft white drapey material that you find in Honiton applique. The condition appears exceptional; I can’t spot anything wrong from the photos.

Auction ends: Apr 29, 2013 18:29:05 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller masonsmommom, Annapolis, Maryland, United States
Comments: An Irish crochet dress front, very densely worked motifs. It has that kind of carved ivory appearance. Mostly shamrocks, with a few pinwheels and flower heads. Picots look like chainstitch loops. I see one frayed chain center left that could be repaired. Overall good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller sirjle, Paris, France
Comments: A semi-circular Chantilly bonnet veil.  The edge at the top has holes to thread a ribbon through; t his would be gathered around a hat brim.  Lots of esprits in the main ground, narrow border outside.  A few holes near the top edge, especially at the right side. Basically good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller sirjle, Paris, France
Comments: long border of piece bobbinlace, the kat stitch or Point de Paris ground is really throwing me, although I think it i s original. Overall it looks mid 18th c.  I’m wondering if this might be an English Devon piece. That might account for the somewhat plain design. The design does tends to pop out better on the photo showing the entire length. Seller cites 2 joins, light pinkish spot, few loose brides. Basically good condition.

Comments: Only one photo of this fan, but it seems to have a handmade Chantilly look.  Faux tortoiseshell sticks, and the lace is designed to be folded.  Seller indicates the silk backing is disintegrated, but lace and fans are very good condition.

Comments: A deep shawl collar of Irish Crochet.  Note the picoted edges of the motifs, quite an elegant touch.  Good raised work, and the picots on the brides appear to be chainstitch rings.  Looks a little bit dry, but that just might be the photos. Overall very good condition, very minor defects.

Comments: A deep Irish Crochet collar.  Small rightly done motifs with interesting raised work. I think the picots are crocheted loops, a bit hard to tell.   The brides are quite thick, crocheted over a base.  A few minor pulls and breaks, basically very good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments: Basically fragments of early 18th c Valenciennes, 5-hole ground with some snowflake fillings.  Good delineation of the design using only clothwork and some halfstitch – one of my favorite laces. Condition is short of good, many holes, but excellent study pieces.

Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments: Later 18th century Valenciennes, round hole ground. The design looks a little more toward the 19th c, straight edge and no esprits in the ground. A well done piece, finer than it looks in the photos. Seller cites a faint stain, otherwise very good condition.

Comments: Brussels Duchesse – seller is probably right and they are end pieces to a narrow scarf.  Raised rose petals in the Point de Gaze inserts.  Good, well balanced design, nicely worked. Appears in very good condition, just a few pinholes in the needlelace mesh.

Offered by: Ebay seller annacottage, Newtown, Connecticut, United States
Comments: This is a late addition to the Alerts. A high end Blonde veil or shawl, a large rectangular shape. Looks almost like a bonnet veil, but too big. Comes with a provenance apparently dating back to 1825 although the wording is not given in the listing. It is probabaly a Normandy piece, Caen or Chantilly. There are a few small holes racroc splits, at least two long repairs. I’ll call the condition very good considering its age and the delicacy of silk blonde. This is a very impressive piece.

Offered by: Ebay seller onlysunnydays49, Saint John, Indiana, United States
Comments:  A deep collar of Bruges Bloemwerk.  The motifs are rather large, and united with a regular square bride ground.  All in all things are appropriate to the size.  Things are a bit loosely worked causing some tapes to have a wavy appearance.  Overall looks in very good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments:  A bonnet veil of needlerun lace. I don’t know the origin, could be Limerick, although there aren’t a lot of Irish design elements. Or Lier?  The piece is very supple and white, with well done needlerun embroidery and fillings. Seller cites a few pinholes and some small holes in the net. Overall good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments:  A few of these Bucks-edged Tulle scarves have come up for sale recently. It’s a simple semi-handmade solution to getting a large amount of ‘point’ ground to a traditional point ground lace.  The Bucks is fairly simple, and the machine net is quite supple and a good match for the lace.  As for it being silk, the photos aren’t close enough to tell.  I’d default to cotton without further information.  There are some pinholes in the net grounds on both parts, and the Bucks looks a bit pulled in places. But overall good condition.

Starting Price: $65.00
Auction ends: Apr 22, 2013 11:18:02 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments:  These cuffs are probably sections of a straight Mechlin border, slightly gathered at the top.  The design resembles the Beveran straight edge, single flower border with masses of esprits in the ground. Although Beveran is a point ground with woven tallies used for esprits.  Several laces followed this type of pattern, which was meant to be ruffled. The work here is excellent. Condition looks good, a few pinholes in the ground. As a collector I’d rather have the entire length intact, especially since we don’t know the exact history of these pieces.  But they are excellent examples of the technique.

Starting Price: 430.00 EUR
Auction ends: Apr 22, 2013 12:05:27 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller valbya, Ile de France, France
Comments:  A reasonably wide, exceptionally long crinoline flounce of Brussels bobbin and needlelace application on machine net (note the tag saying ‘application Bruxelles fleurs d’aiguille).  The flowers are needle-made, while most of the foliage is bobbin. Some simple needle-made rings used as ‘mode’ fillings. The design isn’t the most elaborate you can find, but it fills the space well – note the esprits through the ground. Condition is good, it has been used, seller says it is slightly dusty.  I don’t see any obvious damage, although not all of it has been photographed.

Offered by: Ebay seller isohex, Tyne-Wear,, United Kingdom
Comments:  A rectangular tambour embroidery scarf on machine net. The raised embroidered roses and leaves really set this piece apart nicely.  The leaves aren’t fully attached, giving a 3-d look to the design.  I see some stains, some pinholes in the net and a tiny hole occasionally.  Overall good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller winterwonderlandfairy, london, United Kingdom
Comments:  A collar of Duchesse de Bruges, somewhat on the Bloemwerk side.  A little raised work on halfstitch, no needlelace that I can see.  I’m having trouble deciding on the color, some photos look quite white, others have an overall beige cast. Could be either. A few brown stains, but I don’t see any obvious damage. Basically good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller lady-linen, Seminole, Florida
Comments:  A Point de Gaze butterfly with doubled wings.  Note the clothwork variation in the body, and use of ‘mode’ fillings.  These were made as tourist items in the 20th century – I knew a woman in Zele, Belgium still making them in 1980. This one is in very good condition, with the design better than average.

Comments:  A Point de Gaze fan with Mother of Pearl (probably abalone) sticks, and pierced bone slips. The lace has no raised work and a few rings used as fillings for flowers. Condition looks very good on the lace; seller notes only one small hole near the top, and a cream color. One slip slightly broken.

Offered by: Ebay seller derbeatle, Cheltenham, United Kingdom
Comments:  An interesting plaited lace with an insertion above and scalloped border below. Not many closeups, but it does look like the lower border is ‘sewn’ in the bobbinlace sense to the top insertion. Seems to be a Cluny design, but could have been made in many places.  It does have a kind of Italian feel with elements tracing back to Genoese plaited bobbinlace.  Looks in very good condition.  Seller says ~ 1.8 yards is separated into two pieces, not entirely sure what that means.

Offered by: Ebay seller annacottage, Newton, Connecticut, United States
Comments:  A triangular Chantilly shawl with an elaborate design. Note the large ‘flower pot’ spray center back.  Chantilly pieces this size are made from strips, and here they look like they go horizontally, parallel to the long upper edge. There are some racroc splits, and apparently one repair.  One strip appears not to have any gimp, which is very unusual. There is damage to the ground in places, some unraveling, and a few holes. So I’ll call condition short of good.

Offered by: Ebay seller adtjmd, Newton, United States
Comments:  An Irish Crochet dress front. Good condition, seller cites some age discoloration, a few light spots and occasional broken bride. This piece is a bit more complex than it first appears. Three different bride patterns, and note the unusual raised ‘bullion’ strip dividing the oval motifs in two.  Not the most impressive design, but definitely worth some study.

Auction ends: Apr 23, 2013 18:13:35 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller yellow_daisy, Carlisle, Massachusetts, United States
Comments:  A Flemish bobbinlace border, rather Brabant looking with larger motifs and both 6-pointed star and picoted bride grounds. Mid 18th century. As with many Brabant piece, the design is a bit free – note there are areas that look like they are meant to form brides in the middle of the clothstitch, but sometimes not developed, and often not symmetric with other design elements. There looks like there’s some darning repair to some motifs.  Overall good condition.

Size: 2″ x 36″
Starting Price: $85.00
Auction ends: Apr 24, 2013 11:40:43 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments:  A Valenciennes border, around 1730. Some might call this Binche, but we don’t know enough about the very small Binche industry at this time to distinguish their products from the far larger Valenciennes one. Val at this period experimented a lot with grounds, especially the ‘partridge eye’ as seen here. I would call the condition very good for something this age. There is one join very near one end, a minor issue.

Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments:  Could be Flemish – note the passing of the ground threads behind the motifs. This is a typical Flemish technique.  It is a tape lace derived from Milanese elements, and with two different fillings.  The picoted border looks a bit strange, maybe added later? Very difficult to put a date on something like this, perhaps early 18th c. One ;midway join, some storage marks, and one mend. Looks in good condition.

Starting Price: $9.99 with reserve
Auction ends: Apr 24, 2013 11:50:04 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller jaruk, Worcester, United Kingdom
Comments:  A mid 18th century border of Mechlin. Might be later; the design doesn’t quite fill out the space like you might expect, and is a little plain. Like an original more elaborate pattern that was reused and weakened over time.  The condition looks very good.

Auction ends: Apr 25, 2013 07:34:44 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller amberfarleigh, Richmond, N. Yorkshire, United Kingdom
Comments:  A handkerchief of Brussels bobbinlace application on machine net. o needlelace that I can spot. An elaborate design with small well-done motifs.  Occasional pinhole, very minor. It does have a slightly washed look, with motifs not quite as crisp as they could be. Basically very good condition.

Comments:  A deep collar of Maltese in a fairly typical design. Massed woven leaves in the center with Maltese cross medallions.  A wheat-ear neckline, and crosses/flowers alternating on the outside.  Nice color.  Looks in very good condition, just an occasional loose bride.

Offered by: Ebay seller isohex, Tyne-Wear,, United Kingdom
Comments:  An impressively long Point de Gaze border, no raised work. Many good ‘mode fillings’. Needless to say there’s already a lot of interest in this piece.  Seller has a detailed description of the location of various defects, and has some notes on the color.  For a piece of this quality they don’t bother me much.  Overall good condition.

Comments:  A Brussels Duchesse fan with Mother of Pearl stickes. One large Point de Gaze insert in the center, raised petal rose.  The bobbinlace itself is a little loosely woven. Fan sticks are in generally good shape, but have been repaired. Lace is in very good condition.

Ebay Alerts! Twenty-four items – April 18, 2013

http://tinyurl.com/bnqsdxa Antique Wide Tape Cord Lace Bertha collar LG Brussels Battenburg
Size: not given explicity, but ruler looks like 17″ across when laid flat.
Starting Price: $14.95
Auction ends: Apr 18, 2013 17:04:06 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller raggedyandrea, Honey Brook, Pennsylvania, United States
Comments:  The heavy gimp on this piece reminds me of Miracourt, but not quite as bold. The islands in the Brides and the general form of the motifs are more like Bruges Bloemwerk, so I think I’ll go with that.  It is an interesting design; a bit naive but with a lot of presence. Condition looks very good from the photos.

130889295364   Sold for $38.00, 3 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/ckq7sa8 Antique/vintage Limerick lace collar black thread cream net. Pat Earnshaw coll.
Size: 36″ neckline, back depth 4.5″
Starting Price: 14.95 GBP
Auction ends: Apr 19, 2013 11:03:55 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller derbeatle, Cheltenham, United Kingdom
Comments:  Ex. coll. Pat Earnshaw. Kind of a strange embroidered machine net collar, black thread on a cream net that looks white in the photos.  The embroidery is needlerun.  Interesting how the white net is used to give texture to the motifs. I’m at a loss on an attribution here. Looks in very good condition from the photos.

330906324654   Sold for 26.15 GBP, 2 bidders.

Size: not given
Starting Price: 24.95 GBP
Auction ends: Apr 19, 2013 11:24:35 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller derbeatle, Cheltenham, United Kingdom
Comments:  A muslin applique machine net rectangular shawl. The motifs are attached with tambour embroidery, a sign of Belgian work.  It has a simple repeat of flowers around the entire edge, and no esprits in the main ground. A few small repairs and tiny holes, washed and soft, basically good condition.

330906337865   Sold for 27.25 GBP, 2 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/bprpjem Antique DUCHESSE LACE BERTHA Collar BELGIUM c. 19th C.

Starting Price: $225.00
Auction ends: Apr 19, 2013 18:16:46 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller marshamanchester, Gardiner, Maine, United States
Comments:  A Duchesse bertha, on the Bruges side. Some work on halfstitch in various flower petals, no needlelace inserts.  A nice looking piece, well done with a well thought out assembly of flowers and swags. The motifs are quite crisp. Looks in very good condition from the photos.

Apr 20, 2013 14:30:45 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller greatlace, Palm Beach, Florida, United States
Comments:  I’m putting these two pieces together since the origin is the same. Unusual documented products of the wives of English missionary workers in Nagercoil, India, which is right on the most southern tip of the country. The work continues today in places like Chennai. These two pieces, in very good, unused condition with original labels are wonderful survivors.  Note how the first one has a lot of similarity to Beds work.

http://tinyurl.com/dyour88 Antique Brussels Duchesse and Point de Gaze Ivory Lace Collar and Matching Cuffs
Size: collar 44″ neck edge, 57″ outer edge, 10.5″ center depth. cuffs 3.25″ x 9″
Starting Price: $49.99
Auction ends: Apr 20, 2013 16:19:03 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller dynamopix09, Reading, Massachusetts, United States
Comments:  A shawl collar of Duchesse de Bruxelles, and 2 cuffs of Duchesse. The collar has three Point de Gaze inserts with a raised petal rose in each, along with some interesting buttonholed ring decorations.  Hard call if the cuffs are meant to match, no Pt de G, and the design of the Duchesse on both is quite typical of this lace.  The bobbinlace on the collar is in good shape, although it does have that wrinkled washed look. I see a pinhole or two in the Pt de G.  A few broken brides on the cuffs. Overall good condition on both.

300890495699   Sold for $325.00, 7 bidders.

Auction ends: Apr 21, 2013 08:25:03 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller lacechest, Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
Comments:  A collar of Duchesse de Bruxelles with exceptionally large, well done Point de Gaze inserts (no raised rose petals).  Note also the raised work on the bobbinlace flowers at the shoulder points.  The condition of this piece appears very good, especially in the needlelace.

221214294874   Sold for $77.00, 3 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/co35l77 ANTIQUE LARGE BRUSSELS MIXED LACE LT. TAN 50″by 6″V.G.C. COLLAR EXQUISITE DOLLS

Auction ends: Apr 21, 2013 09:51:26 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller lacechest, Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States
Comments:  A squarish collar, perhaps a dress front of Duchesse.  There aren’t any Point de Gaze inserts, but there are a few needlelace fillings.  Standard Duchesse motifs, well worked, and it looks in very good condition.  Just a little collar variation along the neckline. Some history is given in the writeup.

Starting Price: 24.00 GBP
Auction ends: Apr 21, 2013 11:04:40 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller supa_troopa, Redditch, Worcestershire, United Kingdom
Comments:  A semi-circular Chantilly bonnet veil with a delicate design around the border, and small esprits throughout the ground.  There are no holes along the top edge for a gathering ribbon.  Very good condition, I don’t see any problems from the photos.

230961847863   Sold for 25.00 GBP, 2 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/c3324rs Fabulous long, wide length antique French 19th century Chantilly type lace

Starting Price: 62.00 GBP
Auction ends: Apr 21, 2013 11:30:55 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller linskapet, Kirkcudbright, Dumfries & Galloway DG6 4UU, United Kingdom
Comments:  A typically long, reasonably wide flounce of Chantilly.  Not a particularly complex design, and the dark thread makes me think it might be of Belgian origin.  The seller shows a photo with one small hole, and mentions one or two small breaks toward the top edge.  Basically very good condition.

190825608884    Sold for 64.00 GBP, 2 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/br3a7ba 19TH CENTURY SUPERB LENGTH OF ANTIQUE IVORY LACE

Starting Price: 8.00 GBP
Auction ends: Apr 21, 2013 12:41:40 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller smugersmith, Ashbourne,, Derbyshire, United Kingdom
Comments:  A border of late 19th or 20th c Burano needlealce.  Note the ‘partridge eye’ fillings, almost if this is trying to copy Argentalla. However the motifs themselves are a bit clumsy in design, so it’s hard to pull off an effective copy. The technique is quite good, and the seller notes a few storage marks. I don’t find any problems in the photos with condition (very good). Just wish there were more of it.

Starting Price: 5.00 GBP
Auction ends: Apr 21, 2013 13:13:23 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller poppy1109, Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom
Comments:  A typically large embroidered net handkerchief.  Tambour embroidery, good needlerun fillings.  Not the pulled thread work in some flower petals.  A little discoloration, but overall very good condition.

360634440754   Sold for 46.00, 5 bidders.

http://tinyurl.com/bnfbq5k Antique Victorian handkerchief with wedding bells in the lace [b] some faults

Starting Price: 5.00 GBP
Auction ends: Apr 21, 2013 13:27:55 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller poppy1109, Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom
Comments:  Another embroidered net handkerchief from this seller, this one fairly small. Tambour embroidery with some variation in stitch spacing to give a little shaded look.  No needlerun fillings that I can see.  See also Ebay #390575280102 for another embroidered net hanky from this seller.
This example is in good condition, it does have a few stains and some separations from the cloth.

Offered by: Ebay seller apseam, Norwood, Massachusetts, United States
Comments:  I’m putting these three together because they are so similar. Small collars with pointed backs and tabs, all three are Point de Gaze.  The third one has a lot of fraying, a little short of good condition, the other two look very good from the photos. I think I like the design on the second one the best – a little shading and some innovative cross hatching in the body.

Apr 21, 2013 17:55:55 PDT
Offered by: Ebay seller ll-antiques, Montgomery Village, Maryland, United States
Comments:  These two items look like Armenian needlelace.  The second one does look like a small purse, but the first one I’m not sure. It is in the shape of what you sometimes see labeled as a tea cosy. And I think the size is reasonable for that – you would have to line it with something to protect against the heat.  The design of both is similar and interesting – note the rings in the centers of the flowers.  Both look in unused very good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller sewandso1, Sarasota, Florida, United States
Comments:  A fairly deep Cluny gupuire collar, probably French.  Good leaf work, with raised leaves on the trails.  Seller cites one small discoloration mark, and it looks a bit wrinkled. Basically very good condition.

Offered by: Ebay seller theantiqueswarehouse, United States
Comments:  A long shawl collar and two cuffs of Point de Gaze.  Raised petal roses in both, and note the variation on the ‘mode’ fillings in the cuffs.  The set doesn’t exactly match, but they could be from the same manufacturer.  There are a number of small pinholes in both, more in the cuffs.  Basically good condition on both.

Comments:  An Irish Crochet dress front with matching cuffs. The elaborate work is typical of French manufacture.  Extensive raised work, tightly worked motifs, and precise picoted brides. A variety of picot types, including some bullion loops.  All pieces appear to be in very good condition.

Comments:  An Irish Crochet dress front with a good symmetric design.  Typical Irish motifs of shamrocks and roses.  I can’t tell how the picots are done.  Seller doesn’t give many condition notes, but the single photo looks like it is in at least good condition.

Comments:  A small Honiton handkerchief. Snails/slugs esthetic, nicely done.  The little wound islands in the brides are a bit unusual. I like the two different motifs in opposite corners.  The design is nicely put together in this piece.  A few small holes, and a little minor staining, overall good condition.
